2009 has started out with me taking a new leap.....into frigid pacific ocean waters. Thats right, I did the 2009 annual polar bear swim on New Years day here in Prince Rupert. As cold as it was its pretty awesome to say that I did it. The snow was falling and Jenn and My mom as well as our friends Sam and Natalie and Carala came to watch. I dont think anyone thought I would actually do.......nor did I. I am pretty sure it was the alcohol still in my blood from the night before that clouded my judgement in thinking it would be "not that cold".
I am happy to say I still have all my toes and fingers and fought off sure frostbite upon exiting the water.
